Project Design Engineer


£35K - £45K per annum

Project Design Engineer urgently required for a leading manufacturing company based in Woking. We are looking for experienced Design Engineer with a proven experience in producing concept models drawings using Solidworks and managing design projects within manufacturing/ precision engineering industries. You will be reporting to the Snr Design Engineer.

This is a Permanent role. The company has fast-expanding business that has doubled in headcount in the past 12 months due to unprecedented orders, resulting in a solid order book for the next 2- 3 years. Key responsibilities:

Manage the projects ensuring timely delivery of the design project
Produce concept models drawings using Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks
Create full manufacturing drawings for manufacturing process including welded fabrication and manual assemblies.
Liaise with customers to take measurement details (visits onsite may be requested)
Ensure verification and validation of the project is recorded
Check if the storage of all data is correct, such as documentation model and drawing files, also project files, bills of materials (BOM) meeting records and technical information is up to date
Provide technical support to colleagues and customers of the company
Liaising with Sales, Purchasing and Production teams to inform the progress of the projects
Follow all the company procedures and record all work as the company operates using quality system ISO 9001:2005.Requirements:

Similar experience in Project Management withing Manufacturing/ Engineering.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (related to the industry)
2D and 3D CAD experience using Solid Works or Autodesk Inventor.
Good knowledge of production techniques (welding, fabrication, sheet metal and assemblies)
Understanding of CAD Simulation functions that are available within Inventor to be used to optimize part and assembly design
Good knowledge in MRP system
Experience with PLM will be an advantage (Autodesk Vault or Teamcenter).Personal Skills

Well developed communication to liaise with the customers with excellent customer service skills
Ability to lead the projects and support the team from other departments
Work well under pressure to achieve the targets and meet the deadlines
Demonstrated analytical and technical ability within field of expertise
