🧠 About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to lead and develop psychiatric services within a York-based hospital. This is a part-time, on-site role working 28 hours per week. You'll play a pivotal role in a recovery-focused environment, supporting individuals with complex neuropsychiatric needs following acquired brain injury.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Lead psychiatric care and strategy within a multi-disciplinary team

Act as Responsible Clinician for detained patients under the Mental Health Act

*

Provide high-quality, evidence-based interventions

*

Guide and support junior clinical staff

*

Maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external partners

*

Participate in an on-call rota (non-residential) covering York and nearby areas

👩‍⚕️ About You

*

MBBS or equivalent medical qualification

*

Full GMC registration with license to practice

*

MRCPsych and Approved Clinician status

*

Section 12 approved under the Mental Health Act

*

Extensive experience using bio-psycho-social models in psychiatry

*

Strong leadership, decision-making, and teamworking skills

*

Committed to continuous improvement and collaborative working
