The National Concert Hall (NCH) has proudly served the Irish public since it opened in 1981. Hosting over 1,000 events annually, the NCH is home to the National Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Chorus, Cór Linn, and Cór na nÓg, and promotes an exciting Learning and Participation Programme that reaches audiences of all ages across Ireland. We are currently undertaking an ambitious redevelopment to create a vibrant cultural campus in the heart of our capital city - featuring world-class performance spaces, a strong commitment to inclusivity, and the restoration of an iconic building.

THE POSITION

Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead the NCH in fulfilling its role as Ireland's National Cultural Institution for Music, through world-class concerts, programmes, and cultural initiatives. The CEO will oversee both long and short-term planning - including a major redevelopment project - ensure strong governance, and drive the ongoing strategic and operational development of the organisation. The successful candidate will also act as a key advocate for the NCH, fostering relationships across cultural, governmental, and philanthropic sectors.

REQUIREMENTS

Candidates should have previous senior leadership and management experience and be able to demonstrate a track record of strategic leadership, team management, and organisational change - ideally within a cultural institution of comparable scale. Core competencies required include strategic thinking, leadership, stakeholder management, subject-matter expertise, performance delivery, and resilience. A strong commitment to the ethos and values of the NCH is essential.
