Our Planning, Housing, Regeneration, Economic Development, and Estates services are a community of talented people solving the real-world problems and challenges that need to be addressed to deliver change and improve lives. About the role

  • To provide flexible custodian and caretaking services, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of Council buildings including the Civic Estate, Council offices and Libraries
  • To ensure a professional, considerate service to all users of Barnet Council's public offices including internal staff, tenants, council members and visitors.
  • Carry out requests which are received through the Helpdesk or any other FM systems in line with procedures in place
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly health & safety inspection logs for building compliance and maintain accurate records for review
  • To work as part of a proactive, customer supporting facilities team providing the highest level of service to all service users

About you

  • Previous experience as a Porter/Maintenance Officer/Custodian, preferably in a public sector or similar
  • Clear knowledge of the health and safety compliance requirements within Facilities Management
  • Experience of working within a customer service environment ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Competent in testing and diagnosing issues with audio visual equipment and finding solutions quickly
  • Capable of carry out tasks effectively and efficiently without supervision
  • Training related to the role such as fire warden, PAT Testing, working at height is desirable but not essential
