Position: Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Salary: c£40k - £50K, commensurate with experience
Days role: 7:00am - 3:00pm Monday-Thursday, 7:00am - 2:30pm Fridays
Reporting to: Production Director
Nicholas Associates has an excellent opportunity for an apprentice trained electrical biased, ideally multi skilled, Maintenance Engineer. The successful candidate will work within a team whilst demonstrating personal drive and motivation to deliver results.
You will require a hands on approach and a working knowledge, operation, inspection, testing and maintenance of the following:
- Conversant with CNC Machining centres including interrogation of Siemens, Heidenhain and Fanuc programs for maintenance - fault finding analysis purposes.
- Electrical control of CNC centres, medium to heavy machine tools that include presses, furnaces, grinding machines, milling machines.
- The ability to fault find on and write/modify programs for Siemens, Heidenhain and Fanuc controls.
- Ability to carry out mechanical fault finding and repairs on CNC centres, Surface grinder and milling machines.
- Extensive knowledge of Pneumatic systems, valve control.
- Ability to check correct operation of CNC drive systems and inverter controlled machines.
- Ability to read electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic drawings relating to equipment and make modifications if required.
- Electrical distribution systems Knowledge.

- Conversant with Health and Safety legislation including Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 - Electrical Risk assessments, safe systems of work, PUWER, Work at Height, COSHH, Isolation (LOTO)
- Capable of identifying root cause failure and corrective action
- Committed to change and continues improvement
- Experience in developing planned maintenance schedules
- Organising - Obtaining spares
- Utilise the maintenance management software (Agility)to maximise plant availability
- Create shift job reports for updates on current status of machine problems and resolutions.
- Work with production and production manager to deliver timely repairs and scheduled maintenance.
- Be willing to pass on knowledge to other team members and to work with them to help share knowledge on machine fault finding and repair procedures.
